ALCOHOL SERIES: Vanderbilt

Welcome to the NCAA Alcohol Series! One day, when I replace Mark Emmert as NCAA commissioner, I will mandate that every school only be allowed to sell one type of drink at games. These are the drinks for each Power 5 school. Reasoning for the choices are related to the school’s athletic program, the culture of the school, or really anything that I felt was fitting. Really like something? Really hate something? Hit us @theusofncaa on Twitter. Looking for your school? Every school’s article will be posted on the website and can also be found in the thread pinned to the top of our Twitter @theusofncaa . Enjoy and drink up!

Vanderbilt is the red headed stepchild of the SEC. Everyone knows this. They're the only school with a good academic reputation, and one of the worst athletically. Yes, they have baseball, but only recently has that become the dominant power that it is. How you, Vandy fans, sit through losing season after losing season is beyond me. Most years watching Vandy football and basketball is just brutal. I'm going to be nice to you, Vandy fans, and give you gin and tonic because God knows y'all need gin just to make it through football and basketball, and get you to baseball. Personally, I'd advise drinking straight gin, but if you must have tonic water that's okay too. Please drink up though, because y'all could stand to lose a few brain cells. Somebody get Jay Cutler on the football staff there. Imagine Vanderbilt head football coach Jay Cutler to go along with Vanderbilt head basketball coach Jerry Stackhouse. Do it Vandy, it's the right thing to do (so is banning the Vandy Whistler).
