Welcome to the NCAA Alcohol Series! One day, when I replace Mark Emmert as NCAA commissioner, I will mandate that every school only be allowed to sell one type of drink at games. These are the drinks for each Power 5 school. Reasoning for the choices are related to the school’s athletic program, the culture of the school, or really anything that I felt was fitting. Texas Tech is known as a wild card. Lubbock is in the middle of nowhere, Texas, it has low academic standards, it doesn't have a ton of athletic success, but things tend to get weird and wild there. I mean y'all this just happened within the last week
Any university that will give free beer to its students before a sporting event is a wild place. So, Texas Tech we will continue to make your sporting events wild and give you vodka Red Bulls as your alcoholic beverage. Sure, those folks in Lubbock are already off the chain, who cares? Let's do everything possible to crank that all the way up to 11 so that when the football team puts up 75 and the basketball team puts up 55 everyone in the stands will be going a stupid kind of crazy. Also, could just be rumors, but I've heard that vodka Red Bulls go great with tortillas. There's no specific reason for sharing that detail, just thought it should be included.
