ALCOHOL SERIES: Maryland

Welcome to the NCAA Alcohol Series! One day, when I replace Mark Emmert as NCAA commissioner, I will mandate that every school only be allowed to sell one type of drink at games. These are the drinks for each Power 5 school. Reasoning for the choices are related to the school’s athletic program, the culture of the school, or really anything that I felt was fitting. Really like something? Really hate something? Hit us @theusofncaa on Twitter. Looking for your school? Every school’s article will be posted on the website and can also be found in the thread pinned to the top of our Twitter @theusofncaa . Enjoy and drink up!

Maryland has a few nattys in their history but not really much to be excited about. Sure, they have the 2002 basketball National Title, a women’s basketball title here and there, and a few lacrosse national championships (yes I know they have a football national title from like the 50s but consider the rest of Maryland football history), but there just isn’t a lot there. Also in College Park, Maryland they love to have fun and don’t come to play school. So Maryland, you’re drinking Natural Light. With Natural Light there’s not a whole lot there (sound familiar) and its for people who want to have a good time while spending no money. What we need to make this official is King Maryland Man Scott Van Pelt shotgunning a Natty Light on his nightly SportsCenter. Then it’s officially the drink of Maryland.

Also never forget Maryland beer girl.
