ALCOHOL SERIES: Louisville

Welcome to the NCAA Alcohol Series! One day, when I replace Mark Emmert as NCAA commissioner, I will mandate that every school only be allowed to sell one type of drink at games. These are the drinks for each Power 5 school. Reasoning for the choices are related to the school’s athletic program, the culture of the school, or really anything that I felt was fitting. Really like something? Really hate something? Hit us @theusofncaa on Twitter. Looking for your school? Every school’s article will be posted on the website and can also be found in the thread pinned to the top of our Twitter @theusofncaa . Enjoy and drink up!

What has Louisville athletics done recently? They’ve hired and fired troubled football coach Bobby Petrino, they’ve had the 2013 basketball National Championship vacated, they’ve had the whole Katina Powell escort-gate, they’ve had Brian Bowen and the FBI knocking on the door, they had to fire Rick Pitino because of all this scandal, and they’ve had to rename their football stadium because Papa John is a racist (and now a Kentucky fan). So after all of this what should Louisville fans be drinking at games? Lawless Village IPA. This beer works for a few reasons. First, the Louisville athletics department has been a lawless village recently with coaches and ADs circling through like a revolving door, not to mention all the stuff I already mentioned. Another Louisville tie this beer has is that it is a gluten removed beer. Why does that fit, you ask? Because Louisville had the 2013 National Title banner (and basically the entire season) removed. Congratulations Louisville, you’re a Lawless Village with removed gluten. Also never forget Rick Pitino was fired like a week after this.
